The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Small Satellite Unit within the In-Orbit Technology Demonstration and Validation Division of the Systems Department, under the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality. This position is based at ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands.
The role: As a Systems Engineer, you will be integral to the project management and systems engineering of small satellite missions. Your responsibilities will include managing industrial development/service contracts, leading the specification, design, procurement, development, and verification/acceptance of spacecraft, platform, and equipment hardware. You will also be responsible for consolidating and maintaining system budgets throughout the project lifecycle and leading a team of engineers.
Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in space engineering or a relevant domain. Experience in space projects, including spacecraft system or subsystem design, engineering, and verification is required. Knowledge of small spacecraft and technology demonstration projects, along with hands-on experience in the design, development, and verification of satellite subsystems, is desirable.
