The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a Head of the Space Segment Section for our Directorate of Connectivity and Secure Communications. This position is located either at ECSAT in Harwell, United Kingdom, or at ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands.
The role: As the Head of the Space Segment Section within the Technology and Products Division, you will be responsible for leading activities focused on the development of telecommunication space segment technology and products. This includes managing projects funded by ARTES Industrial Competitiveness (IC) and the Strategic Programme Lines. You will provide regular technical, programmatic, and financial reporting to ESA management and Member State delegations. Additionally, you will manage the Section's manpower plans and resource requirements, and provide engineering support to projects, emphasizing the adoption of innovative technologies in the satellite communication domain.
Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in a relevant field and at least 8 years of professional experience, or a bachelor's degree with an additional four years of experience. Experience in managing and monitoring technology and product development activities in the satellite communication market is essential. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills are required.
