Our team and mission at the Directorate of Space Transportation is dedicated to ensuring European independent access to space. Our main activities include the development and exploitation of Ariane and Vega launch systems, maintenance and upgrading of the European Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, and the development of new launch and space transportation systems, including reusable demonstrators.
The role: As an ESA Graduate Trainee, you will be involved in selected critical preparatory activities with the industry to enable informed decisions by Member States on developing future European transportation capabilities. You will support project management of industrial activities, participate in industrial system studies, assess compliance with high-level requirements, support project reviews, monitor technologies with low readiness levels proposed for maturation, and elaborate technical synthesis on critical and enabling technologies. Additionally, you will support road mapping for relevant technologies.
Job requirements: Candidates should have recently completed or be in the final year of a master’s degree in aerospace engineering or a related technical discipline. You should possess good interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work in a multicultural environment, and have familiarity with modern IT tools. An analytical and problem-solving attitude is essential.
