Debate Teacher

ISSOS is seeking a Debate Teacher for our summer school program at the University of St Andrews. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating educational environment.

The role - what the role entails: As a Debate Teacher, you will lead a class of international students aged 13-18 years old, focusing on the art of public speaking and debate. The role involves teaching for 3 hours each weekday morning during the 3-week program. You will develop and execute engaging lesson plans that cover all aspects of debate, including delivery, organization, evidence analysis, argument intervention, and debating theory.

Job requirements - any requirements mentioned: Candidates must have prior teaching experience, preferably with international students, and be fluent in English. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a nurturing yet challenging educational atmosphere are essential.

Additional Information: All staff must pass a full criminal background check. Applicants must be UK citizens or have the legal right to work in the UK, as ISSOS cannot sponsor visas. The position is fully residential, and staff are required to participate in evening and additional activities on a rota basis.
