Role Summary

  • Assist in the day-to-day publishing of TED Talks and other editorial content

Role Requirements

  • 1-2 years of professional writing and editorial experience
  • Comfort with digital content management and publishing software like Airtable and WordPress
  • Ability to pass a transcription and a writing test
  • Interest and ability to learn new software
  • Advantageous skills include knowledge of a second language, Photoshop or similar software, news reporting experience, and subtitling experience

The Role TED is looking for a detail-oriented publishing assistant with a sharp eye, boundless curiosity and an attitude of getting things done to assist in the day-to-day publishing of TED Talks and other editorial content. This is a six-month contract role. Responsibilities include writing headlines and descriptive copy for TED Talks, original series, podcasts and other content. You will also publish TED Talks as well as other video and written content using internal publishing tools, work with speakers and their teams ahead of their publish dates to prepare them for their talk’s release, helping to bring their ideas to life online and creating maximum impact.

Job Requirements Required: 1-2 years of professional writing and editorial experience, or an equivalent degree. Ability to pass a transcription and a writing test. Comfort with digital content management and publishing software, like Airtable and WordPress, and the ability and desire to learn new software. Useful skills include near-native fluency in a second language other than English, Photoshop or similar image-editing software experience, news reporting experience, and subtitling experience.
