The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking two Secure Connectivity Lead Space Segment Engineers to join the Secure Connectivity Satellite Platform Section within the Secure Connectivity Department in the Directorate of Connectivity and Secure Communications. This role is based at ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands.
The role: As a Secure Connectivity Lead Space Segment Engineer, you will be responsible for tasks relating to the design, development, and deployment of the satellite platform of the Secure Connectivity Space Segment. This includes managing engineering activities for the design, development, qualification, acceptance, and validation of satellites/platforms, adhering to agreed schedule, cost, and technical requirements, including applicable security measures. You will also support engineering, manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing activities, organize satellite-/platform-level reviews, and monitor industrial work for the procurement of satellite platform and ground support equipment.
Job requirements: Candidates should have a master’s degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline with at least 4 years of relevant professional experience, or a bachelor’s degree with an additional four years of relevant professional experience. Strong problem-solving skills, planning and organizational skills, and a strong result orientation are essential. Experience in the design, development, testing of communication satellites and platforms, and experience managing and monitoring industrial work are required.
