The European Space Agency (ESA) is excited to announce the opening for Project Controllers to join our Directorate’s Business Unit Controlling Office. As a Project Controller, you will be part of a dynamic team providing essential support and management services across all operational units within the Directorate. This role is crucial for the continuous improvement of controlling and management support processes, digitalisation, management reporting including dashboards, and enhancing transparency, efficiency, cooperation, and knowledge-sharing.

The role: As a Project Controller, you will prepare, develop, and maintain the overall programmatic aspects of projects in coordination with the Project Manager. This includes managing costs, schedules, workforce, risks, and geographical returns. You will implement and operate planning and control procedures to ensure full visibility on project progress, and you will be involved in preparing tender documents, participating in proposal evaluations, and the procurement process. Additionally, you will be responsible for financial implementation and for ensuring that all project changes are formally verified and implemented in adherence to cost, schedule, and scope requirements.

Job requirements: Applicants must hold a master's degree in a relevant discipline and have at least four years of relevant professional experience. Experience as a controller, preferably at an agency or industry level, and knowledge of space systems architecture are considered assets. Proficiency in project management and risk management principles, advanced business/project control techniques, and computer systems such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project is essential.
