Our Power is a community interest company based in Norwich, dedicated to empowering residents through energy independence and sustainability. We offer free, impartial energy advice and collaborate with local communities on innovative energy projects, including community-owned renewables and heat networks. Established in mid-2024, Our Power has grown to employ four staff members, transitioning from using part-time 'Energy Champions' to hiring a professional Energy Advice Coordinator.
The role: As an Energy Advice Coordinator, you will conduct home energy advice visits, install energy-saving measures, and deliver presentations on energy efficiency and green technologies. You will also hold energy advice surgeries in partnership with other organizations and manage relationships with volunteers and local advice services.
Job requirements: Candidates should have experience in service delivery or community roles, a Level 3 Energy Awareness qualification (or obtain it within three months of starting), and a strong interest in energy efficiency or renewable energy. You should be comfortable working with diverse groups, possess good organizational skills, and be able to perform basic DIY tasks. A personal mode of transport is necessary for travel within Norwich and surrounding areas.
Benefits: The position offers a salary of £16,200 per year for 0.6 FTE, a 3% employer pension contribution, and 20 days of annual leave plus bank holidays. The role is hybrid, requiring both remote and in-person engagements, including some evening and weekend work.
