The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a Telecommunication Systems Product Engineer to join our team in the Directorate of Connectivity and Secure Communications. This role is based in either ECSAT, Harwell, United Kingdom or ESTEC, Noordwijk, Netherlands.

The role: As a Telecommunication Systems Product Engineer, you will be part of the Ground Segment Section within the Technology and Products Division. Your main assignment will involve supporting the AIDAN Next public-private partnership project. This includes providing technical support for end-to-end system architecture definition, development, and verification activities. Additionally, you will support the development of critical technologies for the AIDAN Next project and participate in technology and product roadmap meetings. You will also contribute to the assessment of business cases and market assumptions of industry-initiated product development activities.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline. Direct experience working with a commercial telecommunications operator and European industry, as well as an in-depth understanding of operating within a European agency framework, is highly desirable. You should also have knowledge of satellite communications ground segment architecture, products, market, and business case analysis. Strong negotiation skills and contract or subcontract management experience are essential.
