Role Summary

Overview: Highclere Castle is a famous heritage attraction, the real home behind the Downton Abbey TV show and welcomes thousands of visitors a year to the house and gardens. We are looking for an outgoing, very enthusiastic person to assist our Head Butler/Front of House Manager in our Castle Dining room, busy tea rooms and summer cocktail and snack bars. This is an opportunity for someone to advance skills and knowledge in fine dining on family & corporate occasions in the Castle, cocktail mixology where Highclere Castle Gin is a fast growing brand, special Afternoon Tea where we serve guests sandwiches, cakes and tea of the highest quality and maintain quality & margins in the high volume tea rooms where visitors can number 1200 in a day. The successful candidate will be friendly, outgoing and enjoy providing great customer service as well as having an eye for detail and care in the final delivery of food and drinks to our visitors as well as understanding the basics of food safety and environmental health. We need someone who takes pride in working in a famous heritage site and wants to progress in the hospitality, food, and beverage industry. Experience: - Previous experience in a similar role within the hotel or restaurant industry - Some knowledge of banqueting operations and procedures - A culinary background is a plus - Some leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team is a plus - Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment - Strong attention to detail - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills If you are passionate about delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for guests, we invite you to apply for the position of Front of House Assistant.
