The role in a nutshell
Focused on our EMEA regions, this mid-weight Creative Copywriter will work alongside the Associate Copy Director and design team to create innovative, results-focused campaigns and communications with fresh, engaging messaging. You’ll work collaboratively with our B2B and B2C marketing and commercial functions to generate creative concepts, writing for an exciting variety of platforms, channels and media. As well as for the UNiDAYS brand, there are also ad-hoc opportunities to work on campaigns for UNiDAYS brand partners like Nike, Samsung, ASOS and more. Although you’ll work on a variety of projects that are briefed through the Creative Studio, this role will primarily be focused on our B2B audience.
We’re looking for a true creative with a passion for all things language and experience in writing effective integrated, performance-driven copy. You’re into big ideas as well as faultless execution and are excited by pushing the boundaries of a brief to unlock the true potential of powerful messaging. For our B2C audience, you’re inspired by the rich landscape of youth culture and are able to translate that into integrated marketing campaigns for a Gen Z, student audience as well as understand how good B2B communications can engage brands and generate partnerships.
Day to day responsibilities
- Messaging for projects and campaigns,
- Responsible for the delivery of creative messaging for projects and campaigns, ad-hoc briefs and marketing materials
- Ideation of creative campaigns, even in a B2B world
- Deliver consistent creative standards across all copy
- Work with a tone of voice and style guide to deliver best-in-class comms
- Work alongside localisation to create copy that’s optimised for translation and performs across all EMEA cultures and languages
- Presenting/selling in concepts and execution to other teams and sometimes external clients
What we need from you
Who You Are
- Excellent written English and communication skills, a technical understanding of language and what makes written communications successful both digitally and in print
- Knowledge of B2B writing and skills in making the complex simple for the reader
- A hunger to keep abreast of what makes audiences tick, particularly for our Gen Z consumers
- Able to adapt your writing style to multiple platforms and tones with a set tone of voice and style guide
- Able to think holistically across channels to create a joined-up messaging campaign that connects to visuals
- You strive to stretch the creative boundaries of a brief and enjoy creative ideation
- You take pride in your work with excellent attention to detail, taking ownership of projects through from concept to completion
- Proactive in your own learning and eager to grow, excited by new challenges
- A confident presenter who is able to rationalise creative decisions and sell an idea
- Able to consistently meet deadlines set by senior creative managers and keep to scheduled project timings
What You Have Done
- Similar experience in a creative copywriting role either in-house or agency side, as part of a creative team
- Experience writing for a B2B audience
- Experience writing for a variety of media and audiences, including but not limited to web, CRM, print, OOH, presentations/pitches, social media and blogs
- Experience taking a marketing/business brief and interpreting it to identify key messages
- An understanding of UX copywriting: writing for end-to-end user journeys and wireframing
- Experience engineering short and long-form messaging for commercial performance and conversion
