Role Summary
- Shape, develop and lead the clinical trial and research area focusing on infectious diseases.
- Work in the Infectious Disease Solution Programme, a multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering Wellcome’s strategy for addressing the global health challenge of infectious diseases.
Role Requirements
- Scientific leadership to develop innovative clinical trials and research.
- Ability to lead and manage a team to deliver and drive programmes and projects related to clinical trials.
- Experience in infectious disease research or a related field.
- Experience in the design, execution, and conduct of clinical trials.
- Medically qualified with familiarity and experience with the regulatory requirements for the approval and qualification of new medicines, vaccines, and diagnostics.

The role entails shaping, developing and leading the clinical trial and clinical research area of work for infectious disease within Wellcome, with a focus on delivering impact for patients and communities in the geographies most affected by infectious disease. The position sits within the Infectious Disease Solution Programme, a multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering Wellcome’s strategy to address the global health challenge of infectious disease.
Job requirements include scientific leadership to develop a portfolio of clinical trials and research that is cutting-edge and will deliver impact for the Infectious Disease Solution Programme. You will also need to lead and manage a team to deliver and drive the programmes and projects related to all aspects of clinical trials including design, oversight, governance, execution and reporting. You should be a highly motivated individual with a deep commitment to deliver impact for global health. You should have recognised leadership experience working within the infectious disease research area or a related field. You should be highly experienced in the design, execution and conduct of clinical trials. You should be Medically qualified and have familiarity and experience with the regulatory requirements for the approval and qualification of new medicines, vaccines and diagnostics.
