What will you be doing?

Are you a local Northampton based individual that has work and life experience to bring to the governance of 3 primary schools in the city?  We are looking for committed, enthusiastic people that are willing to learn about our school communities and hold our senior leaders to account in a positive and supportive way.

What are we looking for?

Full training will be given so previous experience of governance is not essential.  We need volunteers that have a true interest in supporting education and are able to commit to the time requirements of the role. Selected skills are:

  • Public relations
  • Governance
  • Safeguarding

What difference will you make?

The local layer of governance is key to our schools' success.  We rely heavily on the Local Advisory Board to give strategic guidance and local insight and continue our trajectory of improvement.  LAB members build strong relationships with the schools and their community and have opportunities to liaise directly with the trust board.

Anything else...

6 x 2 hour meetings per academic year (approx 1 each 6 weeks), in the evening, plus one visit to school per term.
