As someone with a history of delivering successful projects and advocacy, this is a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of our planet by helping create an environment where people and nature can thrive.

We are facing a climate and nature emergency. Nature, our life support system, is being lost at an alarming rate and we have a short window to reverse this. Our UK Seascapes team is working to make this happen by delivering exemplar seascapes and nature-based solutions that can be used as a blueprint protecting and restoring ocean ecosystems.

As Ocean Restoration Project Officer, you will be part of a dedicated team working to realise our new seascape strategy. This will involve supporting the delivery of seagrass restoration projects as well as aquaculture and seaweed farming development work. We will look to you to provide the science and learnings for advocacy work to create an enabling policy environment to scale up restoration. You will help develop and coordinate restoration work in projects to revitalise coastal habitats, such as saltmarshes too. You will also identify new funding opportunities and other innovative projects as well as assist with the drafting of funding proposals and bids and much more.

Ideally a graduate in a relevant discipline, you must have experience in delivering successful projects. You will have a good understanding of marine biodiversity and habitats, climate mitigation as well as adaptation and social issues in relation to land and water management too. Comfortable matrix working, you will be used to coordinating place-based projects and supporting delivery teams. Familiar with managing large and complex budgets, you will also possess excellent networking, communication and influencing skills.

If you are enthusiastic about making our world a better place through your work, we would love to hear from you. Please click on the link and apply via our website by submitting a copy of your up-to-date CV and the Supporting Statement to highlight what makes you a good fit for us.

Every role at WWF is open to applications from all sections of society. We believe in the potential of everyone regardless of; sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic origin, different physical ability, family structure, socio-economics, age, nationality or citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other aspect that makes you, well you. Here at WWF, we are committed to conscious inclusion that helps cultivate an ethos of belonging, connection and shared purpose. We believe that the more diverse we are the better we become; this brings us together and empowers us to develop, engage and inspire; and critically to help build a future where people can live in harmony with nature.

Our policies and benefits reflect the importance of people being able to have a good work-life balance and being able to bring their ‘full self’ to work.

Our world needs you like never before. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world and we could be the last that can do anything about it. We are looking for people who are passionate about making it politically, socially and economically unacceptable to destroy our planet’s natural resources. We need you to join us in the fight for our world.
