Role Summary:
- Translation and adjustment of educational resources and supporting materials for an Indonesian launch

- Support for 10 Surabaya schools to complete the Plastic Clever Schools award
Role Requirements:
- Hold a postgraduate or professional qualification in a relevant field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in education within Indonesia
- Understanding of teacher requirements and networks
- Strong presentation skills, confidence in public speaking
- Proficiency in English and Indonesian in both written and verbal communication

Common Seas is seeking an Education Specialist who will play a crucial role in contextualizing our tried and tested education programme for Indonesia. The Education Project Officer will use their in-depth understanding, local expertise, and relationship building skills to define and deliver our strategic ambition for a global education curriculum, including a pilot launch in Indonesian schools.
Applicants will need to be knowledgeable of the Indonesian education system and have experience in delivering workshops for children and building teacher capacity through training. It’s important that they have a good understanding of local teacher needs and school networking as well as the ability to effectively engage with schools through targeted outreach efforts.
Responsibilities include adjusting, contextualising and translating educational resources and supporting materials for launch in Indonesia, leading program promotion to local educators and ensuring sign up from minimum 10 schools in the Surabaya area, coordinating and delivering engaging teacher training events, and supporting 10 Surabaya schools in the completion of the Plastic Clever Schools award.
The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate or professional qualification in a relevant field, minimum 2 years' experience working in education in Indonesia, strong understanding of teacher needs and networks, excellent presentation skills and confidence speaking to a range of audiences, and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Indonesian.
