Role Summary
- Delivering a new B-Line project focused on the conservation of invertebrates in the Carse of Gowrie B-Line between Perth & Kinross and Dundee.
- Stopping the decline of wild pollinating insects in the area and helping the recovery of local insect populations.

Buglife is dedicated to halting the extinction of invertebrate species and achieving sustainable populations of these vital creatures. We are working hard to achieve this through: Promoting the environmental importance of invertebrates and raising awareness about the challenges to their survival; Assisting in the development of legislation and policy that will ensure the conservation of invertebrates; Developing and disseminating knowledge about how to conserve invertebrates; Encouraging and supporting invertebrate conservation initiatives by other organisations in the UK, Europe and worldwide; Undertaking practical conservation projects that will contribute to achieving our aim.
The role entails delivering a new B-Line project to help Scotland’s invertebrates to survive and thrive. This role will deliver a B-Lines project with a focus on orchards (traditional and new) within the Carse of Gowrie B-Line that runs between Perth & Kinross and Dundee. The project aims to stop the decline of wild pollinating insects in Perth & Kinross and the surrounding area of Tayside and facilitate the recovery of local insect populations.
Job requirements include knowledge of a range of invertebrate groups; demonstrable dedication to protecting the environment and conserving wildlife; good level of ecological knowledge and understanding of conservation issues; project management, financial knowledge and experience; experience of practical habitat restoration, creation and management; excellent team-working skills, with a confident and persuasive manner; excellent written and oral communication skills, including collating information, report-writing and producing information resources; experience of raising public awareness of wildlife and environmental issues; experience of organising events and involving the public in projects; some botanical knowledge; full current driving licence and access to a vehicle; experience delivering training to volunteers would be preferable.
