JOB SUMMARY 

As a project engineer, you’ll be a vital part of the projects team, delivering technical pieces of work that are key to developing the technological infrastructure architecture of our clients. The project engineer works strategically with both the client and our internal team, enabling the successful provision of a particular solution that has been designed to the client’s bespoke needs.

You will also be a proactive self-starter, who is able to plan out projects from start to finish in a holistic manner. You will understand the importance of the small details as part of the bigger picture, and you will be a calm, practical and ‘hands-on’ experienced person within the team. 

You will be able to liaise confidently with colleagues at all levels within your team and with other members of the wider business, to ensure that they are kept up to speed on any issues. You will understand the importance of excellent communication, both written and verbal, in helping to keep a project on track. As a business, all our services go through our PSA Connectwise Manage and you will be familiar with using this as well as appreciating the need for accuracy within it.

You will be able to deliver the work we do and explain it to our clients in a manner that is client-friendly, client-relevant and client-understandable way, knowing that many of our clients outsource to us specifically because they do not have our level of expertise in house. 

You will understand the importance of ensuring client data is held securely and safely, and the role of Fluid as both Data Controller and Data Processor

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Fluid IT is a founding UK B Corporation; we believe in business as a force for good. We are an IT services provider, working predominantly with charities, B Corps and SME’s. 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential requirements:

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 suite, including Intune, Defender, Compliance and Security
  • Experience in implementing Intune, including, but not limited to, Windows Autopilot, Mobile Device Management and Mobile Application Management
  • Experience in migrating to and from Microsoft 365/Google Workspace
  • Experience in Domains and DNS Zone Management
  • Understanding of Cyber Essentials Plus Standard
  • Excellent time management and keeping
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to document and update procedures

Desirable requirements:

  • Understanding of ISO 27001 standard
  • Experience using PSA Connectwise suite (Manage/Automate)
  • Project Management experience including running multiple projects at one
  • Experience in working with SonicWall/Aruba/Grandstream Networks

Role Duties: 

  • Responsible for the completion of short-, medium- and long-term IT engineering projects
  • Works to complete projects within time and budget constraints
  • Carries out evaluation of proposed engineering designs
  • Develops, monitors and implements information systems policies and procedures, to ensure data accuracy, security and regulatory compliance. 
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications, in conjunction with the Head of Projects and wider team.
  • Follow customer issues through to completion to ensure resolution and customer satisfaction have been achieved
  • Following Fluid policies and procedures for each client
  • Assist in creating technical documents, and training material
  • Provide work direction, problem resolution, and training to other technical support personnel
  • Assist the sales process by answering questions, providing technical information and conducting product demonstrations, both remotely and in person
  • Participate in offsite travel to customer locations, trade shows, training and other required facilities as appropriate
  • Additional responsibilities as required
