Role Summary

  • Manage and coordinate Finance activities for multiple entities within the organization.
  • Prepare and submit monthly & yearly financial reporting packs and manage accounts receivable/payable.
  • Coordinate with other teams on taxation compliance, auditing, project management, and more.
  • Strive for continuous improvement and efficiency in Finance operations and processes.

Role Requirements

  • Chartered Accountant with 4-5 years relevant experience in international accounting and finance.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS), tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
  • Effective communication skills and fluent in English.
  • Experience with an ERP system (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365).
  • Flexible, high-energy work style and ability to work closely in a diverse team environment with keen attention to detail.

Job summary

In this challenging position, you will be responsible for Finance activities for multiple entities within our organisation. As the local Finance Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating with stakeholders across South Pole and also external stakeholders to ensure reporting is complete in a timely fashion. 

Main tasks & responsibilities:


  • Prepare and submit the monthly and yearly financial reporting pack and management accounts for the entities under your supervision.


  • Manage accounts receivable and credit control.


  • Accounts Payable.


  • Manage cash, including weekly cash flow forecasts.


  • Coordinate with the Global Tax team the billing, review and reconciliation of intercompany recharges.


  • Review monthly payroll and Social Security calculations.


  • Ensure full local taxation compliance with the completion and submission of


mandatory local direct and indirect tax returns.


  • In coordination with the Global Tax team and the local consultants implement


transfer pricing policy and procedures together with the review and

submission.


  • Manage annual audits.


  • Manage external relationships, such a banks, external accountants, auditors.


  • Collaborate with Group Accounting Team on various global finance projects.


  • Document all accounting procedures and ensure they are in alignment with


Group policies.

Project management: automation of procedures and implementation of a new ERP

Assist with Shared service tasks, such as Treasury, FPA and SSC Analysis &

Efficiency.

Assist with the Finance Transformation plan

Other such tasks as decided by the company from time to time in line with the employee’s seniority and skill set.

Requirements:

Essential -


  • You are a chartered accountant.


  • Between 4 and 5 years of relevant experience in international accounting and finance.


  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS), tax legislation and financial reporting standards.


  • High-energy, flexible, and responsive work style; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


  • Good communication skills and fluent in English.


  • Excellent IT skills.


  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


  • Able to work closely in a diverse team, but also independently, able to liaise effectively. with stakeholders within the organization.


Desirable - 


  • CA/ACA/ACCA equivalent qualified.


  • Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus.


  • You have experience with ERP (ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365).
