Role Summary:
- Lead data analysis for portfolio projects and transform raw data into tangible insights.

Role Requirements:
- Experience in data analysis, preferably within the sustainability sector.
- Proficiency in tools such as Excel, R, Python, SQL, or similar.
- Experience with data visualization and field data collection processes.
- Ability to produce impactful reports and visualizations tailored to various stakeholders.
- Familiarity with forestry project data is a plus.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and organized individual with excellent communication skills.

THE ROLE
We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our Carbon Project Delivery team. In this role you will lead data management and analysis for individual projects while driving consistency in data quality, reporting, and insights generation across all projects. Additionally, you will support the design and onboarding processes for new projects by ensuring data systems and processes are operationally ready and aligned with portfolio standards. You will work closely with project managers, technical teams, and external partners to deliver high-quality data insights that enable impactful climate solutions and meet our commitments to clients and stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Analysis and Insights Generation
- Drivedata analysis for the portfolio of projects, transforming raw project datainto actionable insights to support decision-making and ensure successfulproject implementation and issuance of carbon credits.
- Analysetrends in key project indicators, such as tree planting survival rates,plant mortality, and other project performance metrics and provideactional recommendations.
- Developand implement creative methodologies to identify patterns, trends, andanomalies in project performance, providing recommendations forimprovement.
- Producehigh-quality analytical reports, dashboards, and visualizations thatcommunicate findings effectively to project managers, partners, and seniorleadership.
- Collaboratewith project managers and technical teams to define and track criticalKPIs for monitoring project success and identifying early risks.
- Createand manage data collection forms (e.g., KoboToolbox, XLS forms), ensuring seamlessintegration between collection tools and database, and support trainingand creation of training materials for field teams as needed
Data Management and Quality Assurance
- Conductrobust data cleansing and quality assurance to ensure accuracy,consistency, and completeness of project datasets.
- Manageand organize data intake processes from the field, ensuring consistent andtimely data submission across all projects.
- Workwith implementation partners to streamline data collection processes andimplement best practices for field data submission, including the use ofdigital and remote data tools where applicable.
- Supportthe development and use of automated systems for monitoring projectperformance, leveraging tools such as Excel, Power BI, and GIS-basedsoftware.
Portfolio-Wide Data Reporting and Compliance
- Contribute to biannual and annual project reporting by delivering data-driven analysis and visualizations that align with client expectations and compliance standards.
- Provide accurate and timely inputs for client-facing reports, ensuring high-quality insights and trend summaries to demonstrate progress.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain and improve data storage systems, ensuring data accessibility, security, and integrity.
Process Improvement and Best Practices
- Develop tools, templates, and standardized processes to ensure consistent data management and analysis practices across the portfolio.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the use of data within the team, incorporating innovative tools or techniques to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Support the operationalization of SOPs, ensuring data-related processes (e.g., risk registers, milestone tracking, and performance reporting) are optimized and embedded across projects.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with project managers, technical teams, and implementation partners to understand project needs and provide tailored data insights.
- Support project onboarding processes by reviewing and aligning data collection, management, and reporting systems with project requirements.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing across the team, helping build capacity in data analysis and visualization best practices.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in data analysis, preferably within the sustainability sector, forestry, or carbon markets.
- Strong expertise in managing large datasets, data cleansing, and applying analytical techniques to uncover trends and insights.
- Proficiency in tools such as Excel, R, Python, SQL, or other relevant data analysis software.
- Proven experience with data visualization (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, PowerPoint).
- Experience working with field data collection processes and digital tools such as KoboToolbox, ODK, XLSForm (Experience with Monday.com and GIS tools is a bonus).
- Ability to produce clear, concise, and impactful reports and visualizations tailored to different stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify patterns and trends in complex datasets.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with forestry project data, including metrics such as plant mortality, tree growth rates, and carbon stock measurements.
- Experience working with carbon registries or environmental compliance documentation.
- Knowledge of statistical modelling, geospatial analysis, or machine learning techniques.
