Reporting to the Events and Operations Specialist (Claudine Lim), Principles of Intelligence is seeking a Senior Communications Associate to manage and elevate our communications presence. This role will support our public-facing work through coordinating our writing, social media channels, helping produce basic graphic design and video editing, and regular newsletter production.

Position Details Location: Remote. This role will be expected to come to Belgrade, Serbia for three weeks in September for onboarding, after which the work is remote.

Visa / Work authorization: We can provide visa sponsorship for candidates based in (or relocating to) London (UK) and Berkeley / Bay Area (US), depending on candidate circumstances and role fit.

Type: Full-time.

Start date: September 2026.

Salary range: Salary is dependent upon location and experience. Our estimated range is $60,000 – $80,000 gross.

Core Responsibilities Standardize branding across all Principles of Intelligence social media profiles, developing and scheduling curated content to amplify our researchers, work, events, and job opportunities Create on-brand visual assets for use across communication channels, including but not limited to, social media, newsletters, and the website, utilizing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva Assist the team in carrying out regular updates to our WordPress website, including publishing new content, updating existing pages, and flagging any technical issues for resolution Compile and format content for regular newsletters, coordinating with team members to gather updates and ensure content is accurate and timely Edit video content following events and speaker engagements This role is fully remote, so we’re looking for people who can thrive in an async environment and are genuinely excited to work on AI safety.

Requirements You are ideal for the role if: You are excited to work on making AI go well – removing AI Risks and increasing positive futures through your writing and design taste. You enjoy learning what different researchers are doing and helping them express themselves through your edits. You’ve written before and done comms work for growing orgs. (Ideally) You know how to use AI responsibly to make systems work better, or are interested to learn this skill.

Must have Social media management experience and ability to develop and schedule content across platforms (LinkedIn and X), with an eye for audience and consistency Visual design competency and proficiency in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite Strong writing and editing with ability Familiarity with WordPress

Great to Have Basic to intermediate video editing capability, using tools such as Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar Experience translating technical or academic content for general audiences Email marketing platform experience, including Mailchimp, Substack, or equivalent; Interest in or curiosity about AI safety
