The Good Food Institute Mission
GFI is at the forefront of the movement to advance plant-based and cultivated (grown from cells) meat in order to solve some of the world’s biggest problems, from climate change and global hunger, to antibiotic resistance and animal suffering
The Role
The Good Food Institute Europe (GFI Europe) is looking for a UK Policy Manager to influence how quickly the UK moves to a more ethical and sustainable food system. If you’re excited about using your policy-influencing skills to transform the global food system, we’d love to hear from you!
Reporting to Alice Ravenscroft, our Head of Policy, you will be responsible for driving policy impact for sustainable proteins in the UK. This will include identifying priorities and opportunities to achieve maximum impact, and rallying like-minded organisations and individuals to amplify our impact.
You will be given significant trust and autonomy to drive our engagement with the UK government and Parliament – while also working closely with, and being supported by, the rest of our friendly and passionate European policy team.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A demonstrated ability to drive policy change.
- Experience working on policy at a national (UK or other country), EU or multilateral level, for example in a government, public institution, political party, NGO, think tank, industry association, public affairs agency, consulting firm, lobbying organisation or other relevant institution.
- Excellent people and communication skills – the ability to influence, network, build alliances and work well in a team.
- A passion for GFI’s philosophy and mission.
Full-time (flexible hours), permanent. Requests for part time hours (0.5 FTE or above) can be considered.
Home-based/remote from anywhere in Europe.
Salary: £37,000 – £43,000 FTE. This range is based on a UK hire and will be adjusted if hired elsewhere in Europe.
