About Marshmallow We build financial products that accelerate the economic freedom for people who move across borders. We started with car insurance — insuring over a million drivers — and we’re scaling beyond. Tens of millions of people move countries each year, facing overlooked financial challenges. Our future is in building financial products around their needs to positively impact their lives.
The Role We’re looking for a motivated, proactive and detail-oriented Underwriter to join our Underwriting Team. This role will primarily focus on our private motor product, although responsibilities will span both product areas as needed. This role involves taking ownership of queries from across the business, supporting the development and rollout of new products and services, managing key underwriting documentation, conducting underwriting audits, and overseeing indemnity decisions.
Job Requirements You currently work, or have previously worked, within a personal lines motor insurance setting covering car and/or van, either directly within an Underwriting Team or in a role that involves close collaboration with underwriters, where you regularly apply motor insurance terminology and principles in practice. You have an interest in, or have started working towards, your CII qualifications.
Benefits Hybrid working, Competitive bonus scheme, Flexible benefits budget, Sabbatical Leave, Work From Anywhere, Mental wellbeing support, Learning and development, Private health care, Medical cash plan, Tech scheme, Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualifications, 33 days holiday, pension, cycle-to-work scheme, monthly team socials and company-wide socials every month!
Application Details We break it up into 3 stages: Initial call with our Talent team (30 mins), An online written task, A skill-based interview where you will discuss your previous experience etc. with Katie Williams, Senior Underwriter (1 hour), A culture interview to check that your work style fits our processes and values with Paula, Insurance Director (1 hour).
