What will you be doing?

The chairperson leads the board in service of DigiKick’s strategic aims and mission. The Chair must live within 50 miles of Birmingham (United Kingdom) and available to make at least 2 in person meetings per year, and the Christmas get together.  As Chairperson of DigiKick, you will lead the Board in service of DigiKick’s strategic aims and mission. Acting as the key liaison between the board, directors, and staff, you will foster strong communication and collaboration across the organisation. You will be responsible for chairing board meetings and supporting the performance management of directors, helping to drive DigiKick’s mission forward with clarity and accountability. This role is in an advisory capacity only. The Chairperson has no liability to the operations of DigiKick. You will be working closely with:

Treasurer HR advisor Business development advisor Ambassador Director of people Director of business development

Demonstrate tact and diplomacy, with the ability to listen and engage effectively Ability to foster and promote a collaborative team environment Broad knowledge and understanding of community interest companies and current issues affecting it Experience of operating at a senior strategic leadership level within an organisation Significant experience of chairing meetings and events Strong leadership skills, ability to motivate staff and volunteers and bring people together Financial management expertise and a broad understanding of charity finance issues Ability to commit time to conduct the role well, including travel and attending events out of office hours

What difference will you make?

Lead the board

Attend quarterly board meetings Read weekly update emails and respond as needed

Provide support and advice on DigiKick’s vision, goals and activities

Contributing at board meetings Responding to email questions Challenging or supporting actions and decisions of the directors based on the values and mission of DigiKick

Act as point of contact between staff and board

Attend occasional team meetings Attend team days if relevant Keep abreast of changes in DigiKick’s operation and environment

Chair board meetings

Approve agenda for board meetings Delegate a deputy chair if unavailable for board meetings

Performance management of directors

Support and challenge directors in performance of their duties Conduct appraisal meetings with directors Conduct action plan supervisions with directors Assess appraisal framework for suitability
