What will you be doing?
Our present board of four trustees needs to achieve a succession over the next few years. We seek a new trustee, to take on the role of treasurer (after a hand-over period), to help plan and ensure our future. The task is not onerous and may be undertaken at home, requiring only a few hours per month. There will be opportunities to visit India to see the work of the charity and engage with our Indian trustees and the families that we support. The trustee will play a full and equal role in the governance of the Trust. In time, it would be open to him or her to take on the role of Chair.
What are we looking for?
Common sense and good will are chiefly what are required of our new trustee. You will also need bookkeeping skills and general management experience.
What difference will you make?
Without Grail Trust support some 110 children (currently) would almost certainly not benefit from education up to, and including, university level. A more likely outcome for them would be work as child-labourers or destitution. Our new trustee will help carry forward this vital work.
