What will you be doing?
Greenheart has grown from a small idea, delivering health and well-being services to the community via workshops and sessional learning around balancing mental and physical health. We have received small pockets of funding and often over-delivered on outputs and outcomes supporting those in crisis or experiencing stress-related illness. Having delivered our services at local community venues and one-to-one in people's homes, our mission was always to build a therapy centre of our own. We recently acquired an outdoor nature space which is the perfect location to meet this goal. Whilst we have exponential knowledge in health and well-being, we lack experience in business development and growth. We currently have a small inexperienced board of trustees with big hearts, but we require some drivers on board who feel they can give our mission the fuel it requires to serve our community better. We welcome people with experience to guide our big vision with the incremental steps required to avoid us getting lost in the big picture.
What are we looking for?
Previous experience in business development or running a successful community enterprise. Skills around raising and or managing finances and financial planning. A desire to work on a project that incorporates community well-being and environmental issues at its core.
What difference will you make?
The impact the role will generate is exponential as we serve multiple causes. Firstly we aim to serve a fully functional off-grid nature scape facility where organisations and community members can come to enjoy and learn about the importance of community ecological development (CED). This concept is based on a permaculture model, which suggests all living organisms thrive when they are in harmony with their environment. With the current climate crisis reaching its climax, we feel our mission plays a crucial role in educating future generations about the importance of planet preservation and harnessing the healing power of nature. As the cost of living crisis impacts our communities and, for many, stress levels continue to rise, one of the main outlets recognised for balancing the collective nervous system is mother nature. We provide safe, secure access to a well-groomed and highly accommodating facility where families, volunteers, and corporate organisations can learn, share and grow. Getting people closer to nature is proven to positively impact hormonal health, which is the foundation for balanced health and well-being. Our facilities include outdoor walking, fishing, camping and cooking facilities, compost toilets, a fire circle, a woodland sauna and a retreat space. Future planning aims to develop an eco-park for sensitively delivering nature-related business projects. A therapy centre and cafe will be our crowning glory allowing us to impact health stats across our community positively.
