Ben & Jerry's

Ben & Jerry's was founded in 1978 in a renovated gas station in Burlington Vermont USA by childhood friends and dedicated activists Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield.

They had a burning desire to create a business that would not only be profitable but would also give back to the community in which they operated. Their aim is (& always has been!) to make the best possible ice cream in the nicest possible way.

The company was founded on the sustainable concept of linked prosperity and to this day strives to create impact for all communities they are involved with through Values Led Sourcing, reducing our environmental footprint and actively campaigning on issues of social and environmental justice with our fun and irreverent attitude. Our recent campaigns have been to restore the right to work for people seeking asylum in the UK, advocating for including tackling climate change in the French constitution and creating connections between locals and newcomers in Germany.
