Blockchain began with a simple idea in late 2011: make Bitcoin transactions and the Bitcoin economy easier to understand and use. Blockchain was the first to launch a block explorer, consumer ready Bitcoin wallet, and API platform.

As Bitcoin gained steam in late 2012, the team grew and began to work from York, UK. We raised an industry-leading Series A 30M round of funding in October 2014. By January 2015, we opened London HQ and shortly after, we moved into our New York office in Soho.

We have done a lot with little, but have a long way to go.
