The Bukit Lawang Trust is a grassroots conservation education NGO based in the rural community of Bukit Lawang in North Sumatra. Right on the edge of the severely endangered Leuser Ecosystem. The last place on Earth where you can find Tigers, Orangutans, Elephants, Rhinos & Bears living together in the wild.
The Trust focuses on tackling Human Caused climate change through education and has provided Free education to local communities across North Sumatra for over 13 years. As well as this, the Trust has been a forerunner in conservation efforts in Indonesia since 2003.
Our diverse range of volunteer programs, designed by Conservation experts in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, provide an unequalled opportunity for adventure and exploration whilst still facilitating positive lasting change in a real way!
