Started 12 years ago Camara is now at the forefront of delivering Technology-enhanced Learning (TeL) to some of the poorest people in the world. It does this by installing computer labs in schools and colleges in Sub-Saharan Africa and by training the teachers how to use these computers as educational tools.
Camara is an International organisation dedicated to using technology to improve education and livelihood skills in disadvantaged communities around the world. With better education we expect these communities to break the cycle of poverty they find themselves in.
Founded 12 years ago in Dublin, Ireland the organisation has built a proven model of education delivery' that is both sustainable and highly scalable. More than 2.4 million children in poor communities have been made digitally literate by Camara over this period.

We currently operate in 6 counties in Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Zambia,Uganda, Lesotho, Tanzania), and in Ireland. All Hubs operate as social enterprises.
