The start-up social initiative rescues food that would otherwise be wasted and distributes it between 3 different communities in Managua capital of Nicaragua.
Eat United Nicaragua began life in 2013 and has been growing vigorously ever since thanks to the combined efforts of a big family of food vendors Nicaraguan communities and local and international volunteers.

Let's save veggies - and fill bellies!
Our approach is innovative and absolutely logical. We solve two problems at the same time: food waste & malnutrition. We cannot save the world - but at least contribute on the local level - in an urban context in Nicaragua. We are working colesely together with vendors on the biggest wholesale market in Managua. They donate food which they can't sell anymore. It is incredible to see how many perfectly edible fruits and veggies would have been wasted every time. We collect different fruits and veggies every week and use them to prepare amazing smoothies, creative salads and improvised soups. We help out with the cooking in the food insecure communities we're cooperating with. The kids are happy to try our recipes almost all the time and get excited about never seen vegetables like yellow zuchini. It is such a great feeling to see happy faces after our cooking events.
As a member of our team you'll experience lots of different settings and social contexts. Every working week is different!
