We believe that the biggest challenges facing humanity require the convergence of the sciences. This convergence is not happening fast enough or with enough clear direction.

Convergent science requires input from multiple sources. Yet, in both academia and corporate R&D, scientists operate in silos. Focusing on inventions and discoveries only allows us to access a fraction of the potential impact of science.

Our vision is to build a new kind of institution, to sit alongside Max Planck and Cold Spring, but focused completely on venture creation from day one.
