Careers at East of England Apples and Orchards Project

The East of England Apples and Orchards Project works to secure a long-term future for the heritage orchard fruit varieties and their orchard habitat. Working across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire, it supports the planting of new orchards and the restoration of existing ones, with advice, training in orchard skills and the supply of all the local apple, pear, plum and cherry trees.  Local fruit varieties are special for their associations with people and places, as a food crop, and for their genetic diversity. Orchards are good for wildlife and biodiversity and enhance the local landscape. They, and their crops, are equally good for people, offering a safe space that supports physical health and mental well-being.
