Location: Huanchaco/ Trujillo Northern Peru

Project Overview: Exquisipan is a Social Enterprise Coffee & Bakery in Trujillo, we are committed to empower women through training them as bakers in order to develop employment opportunities for socially excluded women in a safe and supportive setting. We have been successful and innovative with our approach and have been working with some of these women for over three years.

We have three Positions: Project Co-ordinator, Sales Person, Baker

1.     Project Co-ordinator

The Coffee & Bakery Project is a new venture and as Project Co-ordinator you will be responsible for the whole performance, sales, delivery, management and development of a high quality social enterprise project. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a brand new role working for a vibrant new social programme in Peru which will be instrumental in changing the lives of many disadvantaged women on a daily basis. The successful applicant will be mainly focusing on building a successful social business. Important aspects of this project are: sales, efficiency and social outcomes.

This role promises to be varied, very demanding, exciting and rewarding. You will be an enthusiastic and lively person, who is able to work well under pressure and has the ability to adjust to a different culture and the setting of a Peruvian shanty town.

Roles and Responsibilities


  • General Management all the caf‚àö¬© shop
  • Monitor and manage the income and expenditure of the bakery
  • Oversee stock ordering and stock control, including periodic stock take and audit.
  • Make sure we are achieving our targets
  • Accountancy
  • Promotion of the Caf‚àö¬© Shop

2.   Sales and marketing

Roles and Responsibilities


  • Front of house: Sell, serve and look after customers.    
  • Develop and implement the market strategy to target potential clients. 

  • Monitor standards of customer service, merchandising and promotion

  • Ensure that the bakery achieves its income and profit targets by maximizing sales, minimizing costs and constantly looking at better ways to promote the business

  • Make sure to keep everything in the caf‚àö¬© clean: Washing dish rags, towel in bathroom, tablecloths, display cabinets, using disinfectant-type cleaners. Putting away dishes in the end of the day/shift, sweeping floors and steps, washing dishrags, cleaning all when closing the business.

Marketing


  • Marketing the Coffee- bakery using social media.

  • Preparing fundraising documents and other support materials, e.g. flyers, texts for website

3.  Baker

Roles and Responsibilities


  • Mixing, preparing and baking bread and pastries.

  • Opening the bakery every morning.

  • Arranging the display case in an appealing manner.

  • Ordering more supplies on time to Co-ordinator.

  • Crafting and creating new and exciting baked goods.

  • Ensuring all baked goods are completed on time for opening.

Skills and Abilities for the 3 positions

Able to demonstrate:


  • Problem solving

  • Building and maintaining relationships  as well as cleaning and maintenance

  • Commercial awareness

  • Customer Focus

Requirements

- Provide evidence of a University degree or studying higher education

- Preferable experience with social enterprise trading, people management or budget management both performance and financial

- Good level of Spanish and English

- Time Commitment: min. 1 months.
- Good level of numeracy
- Confidence and enthusiasm and commitment to the cause
- Knowledge of finance and money management ability, creativity and proactive

-You will be fundamental in ensuring that this new social Coffee Bakery Project becomes successful in line with our business plan.
