Golden Baobab

The Golden Baobab was founded by Deborah Ahenkorah in 2008 as a literary award that discovers, nurtures, and celebrates promising writers of African children's literature.

It has since evolved into an organization that has received international recognition by social enterprises such as Echoing Green for being an innovative idea addressing some of the most pressing problems in the world today.

Our mission is to ensure that in 10 years, you will be able to walk into any bookstore in Africa and the rest of the world to find quality African books for children.
