Background on Guru Systems

Guru Systems is a young and rapidly growing company delivering pay-as-you-go utility and monitoring systems to low carbon energy schemes.

We design our own hardware, write our own embedded firmware and server-side software and use a UK-based manufacturing facility to make our kit. Since bringing our system to market, we have sold more than 7000 Guru Hubs and are installed in the homes on more than 100 low carbon heat networks, from Glasgow to London. We're post-profit and are now scaling up.

Our talented team has won several awards, including the Innovation Award from the Association for Decentralised Energy and Most Innovative Product at the Housing Innovation Awards. The Guardian named us runner-up Start Up of the Year. In 2015 we were awarded a £600k grant by the Department for Energy and Climate Change to develop Big Data analysis tools to identify the root causes of inefficiency in on-site energy systems.

Although we’re small, process is very important to us. We’re already certified to ISO900, ISO14001, ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus. We have aligned our operations with ITIL principles and invested in a SaaS-based service desk system (Sunrise) to support this.

And we’re located in a fantastic office in the middle of Borough Market, directly above the best coffee in London.
