Unique international farming business. Family owned fast growing and like no other company you have worked for
Haygrove is a food and farming business. We grow berries and design systems for farmers to grow their crops better. Fast growing, international and fun; the heart of Haygrove is our people and commitment to live the 'Triple Bottom Line' business approach. By continuing to be profitable and demonstrating success across our social and environmental initiatives we we are determined to be part of the movement that redefines 'great' business. Our berry farms are in the UK, South Africa and Portugal. The horticultural growing systems we design and supply (field scale polytunnels and substrate systems) are sold in 40 countries worldwide. Innovation and partnership are at the centre of all that we do
Founded in 1988 by Angus Davison, Haygrove began as a strawberry growing degree project on 1 hectare of rented land in Herefordshire, UK. This original farming business has steadily expanded in geography and techniques to become an all-year-round berry, and long season cherry and organic grower, supplying the best retailers in the UK, Europe and South Africa.
In 1994 we started protecting crops from challenging UK weather. Pioneering these methods has enabled Haygrove to use its farms as an innovation base to become a leading supplier of commercial scale field tunnels and substrate systems to many of the best growers in more than 40 countries. Haygrove systems are now used on over 25 crop types, allowing us to constantly share learnings at the forefront of world horticulture.
We take pride in being a dynamic business with transparent values. We define success as constantly creating opportunities for truly great people, and measuring ourselves in a hard Triple Bottom Line manner (People , Profit, Planet).
The Haygrove Growing business now comprises of protected crops of 184 hectares across 7 sites in the UK including 14 hectares of glasshouses, 197 hectares across 4 sites in South Africa and more recently 68 hectares in Portugal. Farming at different latitudes enables year round fruit supply as well as the opportunity to constantly learn and develop our knowledge.
Haygrove Growing Systems provides solutions strictly from a profitable grower’s perspective. We aspire to share our experiences with our partner producers supporting them to increase reliability, quality, yield and profit. We use our own considerable growing experience to share new ideas and opportunities across the global community.
We employ 616 permanent staff and 2860 seasonal staff worldwide. Our group turnover is £60m.
