Hive, by British Gas, is a new brand which was launched in September 2013 by the British Gas Connected Homes business unit. In Scotland the brand is known as Hive by Scottish Gas.

As the name suggests Hive is part of the British Gas family of brands and our mission and passion is to make clever technology simple. We develop internet-enabled technology products and services to give our customers greater control over their homes wherever they are.

Our first product is called Hive Active Heating.

Drawing on our British Gas heritage as the experts in heating combined with the technological expertise that is the essence of Connected Homes Hive is the next generation Remote Heating Control. Redesigned Redeveloped and reimagined.

Why are we exciting?

With Hive, our customers can control their hot water as well as their heating from their phone, tablet and laptop. It gives our customers the comfort of never having to come home to a cold house. It enables them to become more informed about how to heat their homes effectively and reduce wasted energy.

Today we have one product. Eventually we will have a range. All will fuse the hallmarks of Hive: Innovative technology – made simple.
