Horses for Good takes in unwanted/rejected/unmanageable equines to rehabilitate, care for and provide them with a home for life. We do this by providing a natural living environment, with natural companionship. By helping the horses better manage/regulate their emotions and by interpreting 'unacceptable or other forms of behaviour' as an expression of unmet needs and/or past trauma, so these can be processed to give relief from any suffering this has caused them. Horses for Good's second objective is to help support and give relief from suffering the consequences of mental health issues or conditions and support wellbeing. This provision is enabled through equine therapy and equine assisted wellbeing sessions which are available to children, especially children and young people in care, vulnerable individuals, single parents, adults, the elderly and minority groups who live in the immediate area, the greater community and surrounding counties. This provision helps bridge the gap for those in need of mental health, emotional and behavioural support and awaiting other financially accessible mental health services, which have massive waiting lists (in some cases years) and provides an accessible service for schools as well as private individuals.
