Indigenous Education Foundation of Tanzania (IEFT)

The Indigenous Education Foundation of Tanzania (IEFT) is a community-collaborative, nonprofit organization that provides quality, affordable education to an under-served region of rural Tanzania. Tanzania suffers from one of the lowest secondary education completion rates in the world. In response to the lack of educational opportunities in Tanzania, IEFT founded and operates the Orkeeswa Secondary School in the Maasai village of Lashaine.

IEFT believes that investing in the youth of Tanzania and empowering them to use their knowledge and skills to make a difference in their communities is the key to breaking the cycle of extreme poverty.
