“The foodbank was there when we really needed it, it was an absolute lifeline” We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. Since the launch of the Irlam and Cadishead foodbank in September 2016, we now have lots of local volunteers, spearheaded by six trustees in conjunction with the Trussell Trust and several local Churches. We moved from Boundary Road Methodist Church to our new home at St Joseph the Worker RC Church in September 2022. We work with local churches, schools and community groups towards stopping hunger in our local area. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills and experience to make a real difference to people living in hardship in the local community whilst also shaping the future of Irlam and Cadishead Foodbank.
