Lewa Wilderness is the oldest private safari lodge in Kenya located in Lewa Conservancy with fantastic views to Mount Kenya.
Lewa Wilderness lodge is located in the heart of Lewa Conservancy, which is the most successful conservation project for the protection of black rhinos in Kenya. The lodge is owned by Will and Emma Craig, who are now the third generation to live here since Lewa Downs was started as a cattle rance in 1922 by the Craig/Douglas family.
Lewa Wilderness lodge is one of 5 lodges on the conservancy but is unique in having its own stables with 40 horses and also the bi-plane, which is piloted by Will Craig. Other activities on offer to guests include driving safaris, guided walks, night drives and even camel safaris. It's a fantastic lodge for honeymooners, couples and families. As well as being home to black and white rhino, Lewa Conservancy offers guests the opportunity to see the Big 5.
There are 9 thatched cottages at the lodge, which was designed and built by the Craig family over the years and can house a maximum of 26 guests at one time. Guests all eat together, so food is a integral part of any stay here and we pride ourselves in hacving our own vegetable and fruit garden, which we utilise to create our fresh and delicious menus.
