LGT Impact Ventures has evolved from LGT Venture Philanthropy (LGT VP) and targets both attractive financial returns and measurable positive social and/or environmental impact. As a global impact investor we invest in scalable business models and help to build strong companies that provide vulnerable people with access to essential services and products in areas such as education health agriculture energy and information and communication technologies. Our aim is to improve the quality of life of less advantaged people contribute to healthy ecosystems and build resilient inclusive and prosperous communities. To date we have invested and deployed over USD 73 million into 53 companies and organizations and reached 4.2 million less advantaged people globally in 2015. LGT IV is the impact investing arm of LGT the world's largest privately owned Private Banking and Asset Management group with USD 134 billion assets under management.

About us

We are an impact investor, supporting social organizations with outstanding social and environmental impact, through financial capital, know-how and networks. Our financial support is offered in forms of grants, loans and equity investments. In the example of Educate Girls, we provided a grant of USD 500'000 to support their expansion.
As part of our support to scale proven local solutions, the LGT Impact Fellowship Program was established to provide sufficient know-how to social enterprises. The program connects the enterprises in need of professional know-how, and experts with the desire to apply their knowledge in a meaningful way.

How do we work?

Our team and an engaged board is located in Latin America, Europe, Africa, India, Southeast Asia and China. Through scaling of proven solutions in an highly engaged manner, we aim to increase the sustainable quality of life of the less advantaged. We support organizations in the areas of renewable energy, water, education, resource management, infrastructure for social markets, nutrition, agriculture and health. It is vital that our invested financial resources generate a high and sustainable social return and do not create any false or unnecessary dependencies nor distort the local markets.
