⛑ Employee wellbeing
Mimica wholeheartedly puts its people first and really invests in our team. Mimica recognises that the team is our greatest asset so by caring for and supporting them - in return the team will be able to perform at the top of our game. They really encourage that your energy is more important than your time & great energy comes from wellbeing.
Despite being a small (growing) team, Mimica already has many processes in place to ensure employee wellbeing is at the forefront.
We have access to Spill (Mental Health Employee Support) to 'reduce burnout, boost morale and improve psychological engagement of employees'. Mimica also introduced a 'time-off policy' last year where there is no maximum days off and long weekends & days off are encouraged. We are also reminded to 'pull the cord' if anything ever gets too much/overwhelming. Personally, during 1:1’s with my line-manager or others I line-manage, we always start the meeting with a wellbeing check-in before going into anything work-related.
In general Mimica is such a supportive network where every single person puts the team's wellbeing above all.
📣 Mission & Purpose
Mimica is a mission driven company, with close horizons of reducing food waste & ambitions to reduce waste for all kinds of perishable products. Everyone at Mimica is here to play our part in making the world a better place.
Alongside our environmental mission, we also have a ‘mission’ to be a values-led company. Mimica has 8 values which ‘inform our long term strategy, as well as our daily interactions and decisions’. We review these quarterly to check in on how we are aligning with them and what we could do better. The values are: be good, do good; stay curious; creatively efficient/ efficiently creative; we> I; making the impossible possible; diverse expertise; health & loved ones first and kindness & respect.
🥰 Employee recognition
As a startup, the employees at Mimica are big cogs in a small machine and have responsibility from the start. This responsibility does not go unnoticed and all wins, no matter the size are celebrated. We also work a lot as a team and usually one person isn’t solely responsible for an output. Everyone is very enthusiastic to ensure everyone gets the recognition and appreciation they deserve. These wins are also shared on our social media too so that others can celebrate with us.
We often do ‘rounds of appreciation’ which is a space if you would like to say thank you or well done etc to another collegue. It’s always so nice to hear everyone’s appreciation for each other. Of course everyone is also recognising each others efforts on a day-to-day basis too!

All of the above! I think the combination of wholeheartedly putting its people first and really investing in our team with being a mission driven company really makes Mimica a unique & enjoyable place to work.
I was attracted to Mimica because of its mission to reduce food waste (a massive contributor to climate change) but since working here, I now appreciate Mimica for its values & culture too.
Everyone at Mimica is here to play our part in making the world a better place & Mimica is there to make sure it's employees are able to be the best versions of themselves to be able to do so.
