We need you! About Mission:HOME Do you want to be a part of getting permanent, decent homes built for some of the 3,500 children and families suffering homelessness in Brighton and Hove? That’s what Mission:HOME is fighting for. You could play a big role in this! Join our close-knit team of volunteers and help us convince the council to free up some of its small unused pieces land for council homes, giving families a real shot at a better life. I'm Scarlett Chapman, 14, and I started this because it breaks my heart to see families stuck in often cramped, awful temporary accommodation – sometimes for up to 15 years. I've been busking in the local area since I was 8, raising over £10,000 for local homelessness charities and helping spread awareness through the regular press, TV, and radio coverage. “I’ve met families living like this, and one mum, ‘Julie’, told me they were given a place so bad they had to hoover mould off the bedroom walls. Her little girl kept getting lung infections – it shook me. That’s why we’re doing this.” Love, Scarlett xx
