We are an open site for everyone to enjoy. Families, walkers, cyclists, visitors from across the country, from pre-school to older people, all seeking activities to experience in a beautiful setting promoting well being. Our parkland, woodland, museum and boat trips on a section of the Ashby Canal, provide a range of experiences for visitors to enjoy whilst learning about the industrial and social history of the area and the environment around us. We are well placed at the heart of The National Forest, continually developing our site as a key heritage tourist destination. The small museum is housed in a well preserved example of an iron blast furnace and our aim is to ensure the industrial and social history of the area is shared with the local community and the wider public. We host and facilitate a range of events on site; car rallies, Moira Canal Festival, Moira Folk Festival, craft fairs and other seasonal events.
