Northern Cancer Voices

Northern Cancer Voices. Established in September 2021, we are the voice of cancer patients in the Northeast and North Cumbria, working with anyone impacted by a cancer diagnosis. What we do – We are working together with healthcare professionals in both primary and secondary care, to improve experiences and ensure the best possible quality of care for cancer patients and their families. We have established a structure for collaboration across the region and are working across the 8 trusts, with networks and groups established in:-

North of Tyne and Gateshead Durham, South Tyneside, and Sunderland Tees Valley North Cumbria

The Group help facilitate collaboration of work between patients and health care professionals and have been involved in many projects already such as:-

Developing patient information leaflets Survey developments– Quality of life, Cancer Patient Experience (CPES) Research opportunities – Galleri trials, Vaccine Trials, Vague symptom pathways, Bladder Cancer Signs and Symptom Awareness Bereavement and loss training Working with Primary Care and Cancer Care Co-ordinators
