As a brand driven by purpose, our mission is to produce high quality, long-lasting eyewear whilst making a commitment to keep conserving the environment around us, minimise our impact on the planet and maximise our positive social impact on people.
Designed for those who acknowledge the need for a better future, appreciate the world we live in and embrace the adventure of exploring it, we take a unique approach to fashion creating a range of sustainable sunglasses that support life-changing vision projects across Africa that benefit low-income populations.
The age of fast fashion has come and gone, and with the new focus on sustainable brands, Pala Eyewear show that it is possible to both look good and do good in 2021. Pala scored highly in the environment & mission criteria in this year's Escape 100 because Pala not only focus on sustainability in their supply chains, working to use recycled materials in the production of their sunglasses but also give back for every pair of glasses purchase to eye-care programmes in Africa. Many people would be surprised by the power of glasses to eliminating poverty but crucially, a pair of spectacles can be an invaluable economic tool providing empowerment for the wearer. They enable reading, learning and access to better education, plus provide a chance to operate a machine, or to thread a needle and improve overall job prospects. Access to this is vital. Pala are a shining example of what it means to be a progressive and sustainable business in 2021 and we're proud to have them in the Escape 100 this year.
