The charity's goals are the preservation, operation, maintenance and protection of the Victorian sailing trawler Pilgrim of Brixham, BM45, a heritage vessel of national significance and part of the UK's National Historic Fleet. By so doing, the charity aims to safeguard the associated traditional boatbuilding, sailing and fishing heritage, working practices and their social context for the information, education and enjoyment of local residents, visitors to the port of Brixham and the general public beyond through sailing the vessel in a traditional manner to other fishing and seafaring communities in the UK and beyond.
