Raphael Centre is a very special organisation, offering a whole-person centred care approach influenced by established holistic ideas and therapies for people with learning disabilities. A registered charity operating as a company limited by guarantee, it currently provides supported living for nine tenants in Bristol. Raphael Centre offers a range of activities tailored to each tenant. These include pottery (Raphael Centre has its own kiln), city and country walks, bushcraft (in the garden and woods), riding with the disabled, horticultural therapy, counselling, art groups, dance and movement therapies, yoga, music therapy and piano lessons. Some tenants work in the local community and Raphael House is very much part of the community.
