The clients we work with have equally aligned values and, from Ecover to UNICEF, we help positive organisations by creating user friendly websites that are sustainable by design.As part of our mission to accelerate the shifttowards a more sustainable Internet, in 2018 we launched websitecarbon.com, the world's first carbon calculator for websites.

Wholegrain puts people and planet above profit in everything we do—from company culture to the websites we design and build. We created the first ever methodology for measuring the digital carbon footprint of a website, and we use this to make websites that are—quite literally—better for people and planet.

Outside of Wholegrain, I work as a visual artist/lighting designer. The team have always been super supportive of my creative practice, something I haven't really experienced in other workplaces. Knowing there is room for flexibility, (if I need it) is great too.

We only work on projects that are aligned with company values. This is HUGE. It means turning down work, internal conversations around purpose, and a constant checking in with our motivation.

Imagine working alongside your best friends. We love each other and we are colleagues, not family. We work hard together, we are honest, we give feedback candidly and we learn from each other.
🤩 Flat hierarchy
Our leadership approach is revolutionary. Our founders are our company directors and rather than intent on growth and profit they are driven to create the best possible workplace.
Part of that brilliant workplace is a flatter hierarchy and distributed decision making. This is really taking shape and is an exciting process to be part of.
Overall
We've all been through one heck of a roller-coaster in the past couple of years. Having a safe, enjoyable and caring place to work has been really important. I have, and will continue to, recommend Wholegrain to friends and those who I feel would be a great fit for the gang.
